This post is a bit sentimental, so bear with me.
This kid just won’t stop growing! I tell him to stop. He tries to stand and I debate pushing him over. He sprouts a few teeth and I simultaneously celebrate another milestone and mourn the loss of his gummy little grin (and toothless bites).
Our biggest development has been the arrival of Grey’s first two teeth! The first popped through on Friday, the second on Saturday. Just in time for G-man to turn 7 months. Along with the teeth came a voracious appetite for solids. This whole time, he’s been more like, “Meh.” when it came to cereal, veggies, purees, and crunchies. Now he watches and comments boisterously while I prepare his feasts, shouting instructions and to ‘Hurry up!’. He gapes his little mouth like a guppy and clamps down on the spoon as soon as it’s in his mouth. He holds banana halves and green beans and rips little chunks off with his sharp teeth.
He also scootches to the coffee table and pulls the toy box out like it’s his job. He also peeks through the legs of the table and laughs hysterically when we catch him watching us. He sits up with no problems at all, leaning in all directions, completely comfortable with his ability to pull himself back. He’s starting to lunge forward from sitting in an early attempt to crawl. It inevitably ends in a face plant, but now he doesn’t cry.
He sits on the floor and plays by himself for a solid 10-15 minutes, tasting and smooshing and thwacking his toys. This little creature is following my finger when I point to something new and tell him, “Look”. He is thinking and deciding and planning and experimenting. I’m completely overwhelmed by the thought of him being so independent, and I know it’ll get worse. And even better.
Here are some pictures of our big boy:
Thank you-thank you for keeping me on the picture list. He is the cutest baby in the world–I’m sure..Keep me on the list. Love Emily
