A little backstory- this is his first time through the carwash that he remembers. I pulled him into the front seat for it. Possibly the best parenting decision I have ever made! He spent the rest of the day thanking the nice spaghetti monsters for helping us give the car a bath. Ha!
We went to a farm that used big beams as benches. G was thrilled to practice his gymnastic skills.
Athletes need sustenance.
I mean, come on. Could they be cuter?
Strawberry picking didn’t go super well. Grey wouldn’t stop picking the green ones, and Evelyn kept tromping through the rows. they did run off a ton of energy, though!
G and his bro. Hanging with mama.
The best part was jumping off the picnic table bench!
We had an overcast lake day. The view is still to die for.
CRNA Grey giving me a “cheeck up”
He’s loving his new soccer uniform! Thanks, Pa and Mimi!
I haven’t been on lately, our household has been thrown a curveball in the form of the dreaded summer cold. Luke and I both have been under the weather (read: super whiny and near death by mucus) for 3 weeks now. Grey was only sick for a few days, thankfully.
The good news is that we can now see the light at the end of the tunnel, Grey is TWO (and cute as ever), and we only have about 6 weeks to go til we meet his little bro! Everything is going great considering our abysmal health the past few weeks. I’m still not swollen, and barely starting to waddle. This is big news. With grey I was solidly miserable by 32 weeks. The baby is measuring on target and is healthy. Luke is chest deep into the kitchen remodel which he plans to finish before Reedlet arrives. Grey has this… swagger. Luke and I both independently called it this. He doesn’t toddle, he runs without looking at the ground. He’s a cool kid. He knows how to be cute on purpose and to tell half truths. He communicates so well it’s a dream. I know there will be challenges with the “twos”, but man. This kid is awesome. It’s just the weirdest thing to barely recognize your own kid because they’re changing so fast!
Grey’s birthday party was this weekend- we had a gaggle of toddlers running around the backyard and blue frosting on the cupcakes, much to my mom friends’ chagrin. 😉 I have a few pictures, and I have a lead on some more. Here’s what I have so far.
We filled a baby pool and had the kids fishing with nets for toys!
He LOVES blowing out the candles. He managed to do it twice during the happy birthday song. 😉
YESSSSS Blue Frosting. Kid ate two cupcakes and crashed.
Taking a spin in Grey’s new red wagon- Ada was loving it!
This is an older picture, but I just love it. He smiles alll the way.
Fixing his monster truck with “daddy’s tool”. In big boy underpants. So much winning in this picture!
And, a little bit o baby butt. It starts out innocently enough. G approaches me saying, “shoes? shoes?” So off come the shoes. Next comes ,”Pants?”. Oookayyy. “Shirt??” Really now? “Beeper?? Beeper?? Peesh?” (diaper please?” And there you have it.
Someone slept well last night! We’ve been in a holding pattern here. Grey is almost 2, and saying all sorts of things. He’s mastered 2 word phrases, and is quick to point out any sort of gas emissions the family has made. Hilarious. He also absolutely loves being outside barefoot, hitting the windchime with a stick, helping us locate “uckies” (dog poo), and scooping dirt with his shovel.
The little boy within is doing great! I feel him most of the time; he’s a busy guy. I’m officially 3rd trimester now and still feeling great. I was pretty swollen with grey by now so I’m grateful that this pregnancy has been easier in that regard. Here are a few pics from the last couple of days.
Had to throw a picture of baby brother in there! 😀
All is well with the family! Luke is totally loving having his big tractor running (ie wreaking havoc on the yard), Grey is getting crazier and crazier, and I’m 23 weeks and change with little man #2! Still feeling good, which is lucky because Grey keeps me running.
I’m doing an absolutely terrible job on the blog, so forgive this smattering of photos.
This is more for our tx, Az, and ca family- this is the most snow I think I’ve ever seen in person! We got about a foot of powder yesterday, then it snowed and sleeted all night for another 6inches of super heavy snow, and since this morning we’ve gotten maybe 4more inches? This is on top of about a 2 ft base. And it’s still going.
On top of all that, we have another storm rolling in tomorrow!! Wowsa.
This picture is of the 500 gallon propane tank.
This is out the basement doors. That’s flat ground between the doors and the apple trees/ gazebo.
