We remembered socks and a blankie and as a bonus he got to wear his little hoodie. He crashed as soon as we hit the end of the paved part of our road. Good stuff. Side note: Zephyr’s hairdo has been looked at by the vet and she thinks it’s either hypothyroidism or just that her hair fell out when we shaved her. There’s a fancy term for it, but for our purposes, it will be dubbed “Furry McBalderButt syndrome”.

Our favorite little chubber is 6 weeks old! He’s smiling more consistently, using his neck and back to spend a lot of time looking around, talking up a storm, and finally getting some pee pee control during diaper changes! It seemed like for awhile there I was deflecting pee 3-4 times daily. Now it’s more like every other day.
This post has already been put on the backburner a few times, so let’s just get it done! Here are a few more pics:

I took Grey for his first ride in the jogging stroller the other day. I’m hoping his hatred of the ride was more hunger related and less anti-stroller related. As you can see, it was less than enjoyable for him (and for me by extension).
“Cool man, we’re in the car seat! We goin for a ride? Gettin some ice cream? Goin to visit that one lady to get some cuddles? Wait- What?!”
OUTSIDE?!? Not cool!! NOT COOL!!

First hike as a family of 3! Couldn’t beat the weather, the view, or the company!
Hiking is hard work…
Grey is now cooing, talking, squealing, and shouting to no one in particular. It’s really cute- most of the time he’s looking at the ceiling or a window when it happens, but he spends a lot of time watching people now too. He watches me when others hold him, and watches Luke when they’re together on the couch. The smiles are coming. He’s given me a few fleeting grins, but nothing I’ve caught on camera though you can bet I’ll be trying!

Our little guy is not so little! He’ll be a month old on Friday and I feel like he should be starting kindergarten soon. Time is pulling some strange tricks.
Our biggest development is that Grey’s sleeping in his nursery now! We had him next to the bed in a pack n play, but he’s so noisy when he sleeps that Luke was getting kept up and none of us had quality shut eye. So, now I stare at the video monitor when I want to know what’s going on. 🙂
We all got a 6 hour stretch last night, and he sleeps a little later because his room is darker in the morning. Good stuff!
Amy was here this last weekend, and we had to send her off this morning. We LOVED our time with her, and I totally took advantage of her quick-draw diaper changes and her somewhat disturbing ability to scamper from the front passenger seat to the back seat of the car. I don’t know how this is possible, seeing as how the carseat is installed in the middle; there truly is no room to squeeze past. I honestly don’t care how she does it, but it came in super handy when Grey had his freak out and needed some love.
That last pic is in Boston. We couldn’t pass up a trip to Pizzaria Regina and Mike’s Pastries in the North End. Luckily, Amy’s flight left AFTER lunch. 😀
*sigh*… the problem with moving all over the country is that mucho travel is required to see all my non-local favorites.
