You all have been very patient! On June 20th, 2012, I gave birth to the cutest little creature I have ever seen. Grey Emerson Stafford weighed in at a whopping 8lbs 14oz, 21 1/4 inches long, and his healthy meter is off the charts.
Luke and I went into the hospital on Monday night to begin induction. I’m going to spare details other than to say that it was a very, VERY tough 2 days with little progress. On Wednesday afternoon, I had finally dilated enough to have my water broken and when they did that, Grey began having difficulty tolerating my contractions. His little head had just been squeezed for too long. Long story short, he was delivered by c section at 630 that night. It was a quick and painless (really!!) procedure performed in a relaxed atmosphere because we chose to do this before our little boy was in any real distress.
Luke was able to hold him right away, and I had the honor not long after. He has been so perfectly healthy this whole time, I just can’t believe how lucky we are.
At his 1 week appointment (he was 6 days old) he had already regained to his birth weight +8oz! Methinks we will have a sweet little buddha baby on our hands. I couldn’t be happier!!
Okay, on to the pictures!!

He came out screaming- best sound in the entire world.

This is a better representation of his personality. Very little (short of a diaper change) will tick him off.

One of my favorites.

Headed home! This outfit lasted partway through the 45 minute drive until an epic poop-splosion paired with a spit-up fest forced us to change tack. Ahh well.

Grey and his dad

Grey with Grandma

Grandpa showed up in the nick of time!

Great Granny and Grey (on the phone call rock) =)

How cute is THIS!!? Mom knitted these cocoons for our little bug.

Luke solved the diaper change issue. Grey screams are no match for noise cancelling headphones!!
This weekend Pa and Mimi (Frank and Sandy) are coming up from Boerne, TX. We can’t wait to see them and share the squish!
We love all of you and thank you so much for sharing this experience with us! I’ll keep posting pics as opportunities arise.
